The Li-ion battery is extremely long-lasting and can be charged up to 2000 times even under harsh conditions of use. Due to the very low self-discharge, the battery keeps its energy for a long period even when not in use. Furthermore, the Li-ion cell weighs much less than conventional rechargeable battery technologies (e.g. NiCd/NiMH/PB) with the same performance.
