UNCOMPROMISING STRONG HOLD

The premium BZ3 stud anchor with European Technical Assessment combines the highest admissible tensile and shear loads with variable anchorage depths, setting new standards for the performance and flexibility of mechanical expansion anchors. Due to the higher admissible loads, the BZ3 can be installed at a shallower depth if needed. Extra short versions are available for this purpose. These versions improve the drilling and setting time and reduce the risk of hitting any reinforcements. The optimization of the material, geometry and manufacturing process has improved performance in multiple ways, including enabling higher loads in the event of an earthquake, reducing the number of revolutions required to reach the tightening torque and increasing the speed and safety of the installation process by using a coloured marking to indicate the minimum anchorage depth. The anchor BZ3 stud anchor can also optionally be used with the special HM cap nut. The closed design of the HM cap nut helps to avoid injuries and opens up new design options for architecturally demanding applications.

Application area:

For the anchorage of medium to heavy loads in cracked and uncracked concrete:
Supports, steel beams, fastening of railings, cable conduits, pipe sections, timber constructions, brackets, fastenings in earthquake regions etc.

Advantages:

  • The stud anchor with very high admissible loads and variable effective anchorage depth

  • European Technical Assessment ETA-19/0619 for use in cracked and uncracked concrete (option 1), under seismic activity performance categories C1 and C2, and for exposure to fire (R30-R120)

  • For higher loads under seismic activity, the ring gap between the stud anchor and the fixture can be filled using the VS filling washer and chemical injection mortar

  • Low minimum effective anchorage depths

  • New calculation method depending on the effective anchorage depth and thickness of the concrete member

  • The high degree of flexibility enables optimal adjustment to the installation situation and therefore increases the cost-effectiveness

  • Also available in extra-short versions

  • Fewer revolutions required to reach the tightening torque

  • Colour coding indicates the minimum effective anchorage depth

  • Shock approval from the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection (from standard effective anchorage depth)
